A pensioner who found two snakes mating took the wild animals home because she thought it would bring good luck

Paew Suwanrattana, 62, noticed the 6ft long keeled rat snakes were found near her house in Songkhla, southern Thailand at dusk on July 21.

She did not contact the rescue team to catch the snakes because he wanted to take them home believing that they would bring good luck.

The superstitious woman threw a cloth on top of the snakes to limit their vision and carry them home.

She said: "I was taught as a child to throw clothes at the mating snakes and keep them close as a lucky charm."

The serpents enjoyed their undisturbed mating in the woman's property for half an hour before they parted each other and slithered back to the wild.
