When I first started learning Chinese, I got really confused about how time works in Chinese, because it is completely backwards from what I know as an English speaker. Key Dialogue: 上(个)星期 (shàng (gè) xīngqī) - last week 下(个)星期 (xià (gè) xīngqī) - next week 上个月 (shàng ge yuè) - last month 下个月 (xià ge yuè) - next month 下下个月 (xià xià gè yuè) - next next month; two months from now (colloquial) 上上个月 (shàng shàng ge yuè) - last last month; two months ago (colloquial) 上次 (shàngcì) - last time 下次 (xiàcì) - next time 下次我买茶吧!(xiàcì wǒ mǎi chá ba) - I'll buy the tea next time! 上次是我买茶的 (shàngcì shì wǒ mǎi chá de) - I bought the tea last time. 下次见!(xiàcì jiàn) - See you next time!
