A pregnant woman gave birth to a baby girlon the rescue boat of the 9th Battalion of NDRF engaged in flood relief and rescue operations on Sunday amid the raging waves of the devastating Gandak river in East Champaran district of Bihar. In order to take the pregnant woman trapped in the flood to safe hospital, mid-day delivery started suffering, after which the woman gave birth to the baby in the presence of Asha Sevika on the boat.

बिहार के पूर्वी चंपारण जिले में तबाही मचा रही गंडक नदी की उफनाती लहरों के बीच रविवार को एक गर्भवती महिला ने बाढ़ राहत और बचाव कार्य में जुटी एनडीआरएफ की 9वीं बटालियन की बचाव बोट पर एक बच्ची को जन्म दिया। बाढ़ में फंसी गर्भवती महिला को सुरक्षित अस्पताल ले जाने के क्रम में बीच मझधार में ही प्रसव पीड़ा शुरू हो गई, जिसके बाद नाव पर ही आशा सेविका का मौजूदगी में महिला ने बच्ची को जन्म दिया।
