North Korea placed the city of Kaesong under lockdown on July 24, 2020 following what media reports described as the reclusive state’s first suspected Covid-19 case. Pyongyang’s state media said the person with suspected Covid-19 symptoms is a defector who was found in the city after he crossed back into the North from South Korea.
