Hundreds of people lined the streets of Ashington to pay their respects to Jack Charlton on Tuesday. People applauded his funeral cortege as it passed through his hometown in Northumberland before a private ceremony later in Newcastle.

Charlton won the World Cup with England in 1966, made 762 appearances for Leeds United, and took charge of Ireland at successive World Cups in the 1990s.
