Record flood year stokes fears about safety of China’s ageing dams

The collapse of a dam at a small reservoir in China's Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region on June 7, 2020, could be a harbinger of the way increasingly extreme weather is testing the nation’s infrastructure. Many of the country's 94,000 ageing dams have been tested by recent heavy rain and flooding.
