Though Govardhan Puja is performed on the second day of Deepawali all over the country, but hundreds of women performed Govardhan Puja in Palai village of Tonk district due to lack of rain. In many other states, there are flood conditions due to rain. So there is no problem in Rajasthan due to lack of rain. In front of the Charbhuja Nath temple of Palai in Tonk district, women worshiped dung by making Govardhan of cow dung.

यूं तो पूरे देश में गोवर्धन पूजा दीपावली के दूसरे दिन की जाती है, लेकिन टोंक जिले के पलाई गांव में सैकड़ों महिलाओं ने बरसात न होने के कारण गोवर्धन पूजा की। कई दूसरे राज्यों में बारिश के कारण बाढ़ के हालात हैं। तो वहीं राजस्थान में बारिश नहीं होने से जनता परेशान है। टोंक जिले के पलाई के चारभुजा नाथ मन्दिर के सामने महिलाओं द्वारा गोबर का गोवर्धन बनाकर बरसात की कामना को लेकर पूजा की गई।
