An IPL between September and early November has been made possible by the ICC's decision on Monday (July 20) to postpone the T20 World Cup in Australia, scheduled for October-November, due to the COVID-19 pandemic. "The IPL Governing Council will meet within a week or 10 days and all decisions will be taken there. As of now, the plan is to have a full fledged IPL comprising 60 games and it could be most likely in the UAE. We have written to the Government for necessary permission," said Patel.

आईपीएल के चेयरमैन बृजेश पटेल ने ये बात साफ़ कर दिया है कि इस बार आईपीएल युएई में होने जा रहा है. और आईपीएल 13 का नया शेड्यूल जल्दी ही जारी किया जाएगा. पर इसके लिए उन्हें सरकार से अनुमति लेनी होगी. इसके बाद ही आगे की प्रक्रिया पर काम किया जाएगा. गौरतलब है कि टीम20 विश्वकप रद्द होने पर आईपीएल पर जोर दिया जा रहा था. पर किसी तरीके से कुछ साफ़ नहीं था. अब जबकि बृजेश पटेल ने खुद ही कह दिया है कि इस बार आईपीएल होगा और युएई में होने जा रहा है. पर उसके लिए हेल्थ मंत्रालय, विदेश मंत्रालय और गृह मंत्री से परमिशन लेना होगा.
