Saryu's water level in the township has gone up to 12 cm above the danger mark. Instead of brainstorming some measures to prevent floods, the officials of the flood department called Pandits near Baghanala village and offered prayers to the villagers on the banks of the Saryu river to save them from the floods.

बस्ती में सरयू का जलस्तर खतरे के निशान से 12 सेमी ऊपर जा चुका है। बाढ़ से बचाव को लेकर मंथन कर कुछ उपाय सोचने के बजाय बाढ़ विभाग के अधिकारियों ने बाघानाला गांव के पास पंडित बुलाकर सरयू नदी तट पर ग्रामीणों को बाढ़ से बचाने के लिए पूजा पाठ कराया।
