A famous Korean War hero and South Korea's first four-star general, will be laid to rest at the Daejeon National Cemetery in the coming hours,... in accordance with his family's wishes.
The Army-led funeral service for Paik Sun-yup, is scheduled to begin at 11:30 a.m., Korea time.
The U.S. National Security Council also paid tribute to Paik,... explaining in a statement that South Korea is a prosperous and democratic republic country thanks to Paik and other heroes.
Paik passed away last Friday at the age of 99.
