The appointment of former Federal Court judge Datuk Seri Gopal Sri Ram as a senior Deputy Public Prosecutor (DPP) in the 1Malaysia Development Berhad (1MDB)-linked cases was to get Datuk Seri Najib Razak charged and convicted, claims lawyer Tan Sri Muhammad Shafee Abdullah.

Shafie said that in his submission in the former prime minister’s bid to disqualify Sri Ram in his 1MDB-linked cases before High Court Judge Datuk Seri Mariana Yahya on Monday.
