Protesters took to the streets of the French capital on Tuesday (July 7) to demonstrate against the appointment of Gerald Darmanin as interior minister due to a rape accusation.

The protesters also demonstrated against the appointment of Eric Dupont-Moretti as Justice Minister. Dupont-Moretti, a former lawyer, is a known critic of the MeToo movement and is also known to have defended controversial people.

The footage was filmed in front of the Madeleine church.
