The coronavirus has been more or less under control in South Korea for some time now.
But elsewhere, the virus is spreading at its fastest rate so far.
The U.S. in the past 24 hours has reported more than 53 thousand new cases.
Outbreaks are especially acute in the state of Texas, where two counties say their hospitals have reached capacity, and also in Florida, which on Saturday reported more than 11 thousand cases, almost beating New York's highest daily number set back in April.
More than 60 percent of the world's cases are now in the Americas.
Brazil is set to surpass 1-and-a-half million cases, but is going ahead and reopening anyway.
India on Saturday recorded its highest daily tally with more than 22-thousand new cases.
India has the fourth highest number of cases in the world.
