Heroic UK firefighters rescue lone duckling trapped in drain

The crew from Barnet Fire Station in north London rescued a duckling from a sewer drain while a woman held it's siblings in a shopping bag on Thursday (July 2).

Footage shows the rescue operation undertaken by the firemen and the moment the infant duck is retrieved from the drain.

Subsequent footage shows the lone duckling in a metal bucket where it's reunited with its siblings.

They spent almost 30 minutes trying to get the duckling out while local shoppers watched.

The woman rounded up the mother duck and eight ducklings, sheltering in a nearby shop.

"The firemen took the ducks in their fire engine to the nearby pond where they are likely to be from, sadly I didn't get to see that," the filmer said.
