In 2007 T20 World Cup, MS Dhoni-led side defied all the odds and proved almost everyone wrong to go all the way. The Men in Blue beat arch-rivals Pakistan in the final to win the inaugural edition of the T20 World Cup. India have not won the tournament since then. What made the win even more special is that it was won without the services of country’s top batsmen – Rahul Dravid, Sourav Ganguly and Sachin Tendulkar. Many still think that all the senior players wanted to give the youngsters a chance to play the T20 World Cup.

2007 में आयोजित 50 ओवर के विश्वकप की नाकामयाबी के बाद उसी साल पहली बार टी20 विश्वकप का भी आयोजन हुआ था. मगर, बड़े सितारों ने उस विश्वकप में हिस्सा नहीं लिया था. सचिन तेंदुलकर, राहुल द्रविड़ और सौरव गांगुली ने भाग लेने से मना कर दिया. और कप्तानी धोनी को दे दी गयी. धोनी ने युवा टीम को लेकर उस विश्वकप को जीता दिया था. जोकि आप भी जानते हैं कि कैसे साउथ अफ्रीका में धोनी सेना ने इतिहास रचा था. टी20 विश्वकप में तब भारतीय टीम का कोई कोच नहीं था. टीम सिर्फ मैनेजर के साथ टी20 विश्वकप खेलने गयी थी. उस वक्त टीम मैनेजर थे पूर्व भारतीय क्रिकेटर लालचंद राजपूत. उन्हीं के दिशा-निर्देशों की वजह से टीम इंडिया जीतने में सफल रही. हालाँकि, योगदान टीम के खिलाड़ियों को जाता है. पर टीम मैनेजमेंट का भी बड़ा रोल रहता है.
