‘Slothbot’ saves endangered species by moving slowly to see the big environmental picture

The low-energy lifestyle of sloths inspired engineers at the Georgia Institute of Technology in the United States to create a robotic version that is proving the adage “slow and steady wins the race”.  Their device called “Slothbot” uses only solar energy on its lengthy missions to understand long-term environmental conditions that affect some of the world’s most endangered species.
