Business Insider reports that despite the novel coronavirus COVID-19 pandemic, roads are still fairly crowded. Traffic has steadily increased since crisis lows in mid-April, when it bottomed out at 52% of normal levels. In fact, transportation data firm INRIX says vehicle traffic has rebounded to about 90% of pre-coronavirus levels. The CDC recently advised employers to incentivize workers to avoid public transportation on their commutes. Experts say that as cities reopen, congestion could rise above pre-coronavirus levels, as many will avoid busses and commuter trains.
