AnTuTu has posted a report about an Asus device with a model code ASUS_I003D cruising to an incredible score on its well-known smartphone benchmark. The smartphone, which is expected to be the Asus ROG Phone 3, scored 646,310 points, which would place it far in front of the chasing pack in the Android-based flagship smartphone chart. For instance, the current leaders, the OPPO Find X2 Pro and the OPPO Find X2, have average scores of 604,123 points and 600,884 points, respectively.
The presumed Asus ROG Phone 3 can thank its Snapdragon 865 processor for a lot of this impressive performance (along with the LPDDR5 and UFS 3.0 memory). However, the regular Snapdragon 865 has a prime core that clocks at 2.84 GHz, whereas the main performance core in the ROG Phone 3's chip is recorded at 3.09 GHz. This puts the latter in line with a recent report about a potential Snapdragon 865 Plus SoC with a higher-clocked prime core being in the works. Regardless of what name this speedy Snapdragon SoC will end up with, it’s clear to see that the upcoming Asus ROG Phone 3 will be able to offer the performance desired by its intended target market. Gamers will expect fast processing speeds for the fullest enjoyment of their games, which the ROG Phone 3 and the overclocked Snapdragon 865 should be able to handle. It’s believed the Asus smartphone could also offer a high refresh rate of 144 Hz to add to its gaming chops.
