After 6 months of painful separation due to the COVID-19 lockdown, this is the heart-melting moment a boy in South Africa is finally reunited with his parents.

"My partner and I were left with no option but to have our son live with my family while we try to advance our careers and business in Johannesburg, South Africa. He is based in Kimberley, my hometown, which is 6 hours away. We usually visit him quarterly, but because of the national lockdown in South Africa, we were stuck and could not visit him," said Poppy, his mother.

"The last time he saw us was at my cousin's funeral in February, so you can only imagine how excited he must have been when he saw us pulling up. He is the light of our lives and the long-distance parenting has most certainly been the biggest sacrifice that we have ever had to make. Today was our first day with him and it was pure bliss," Poppy said in a flurry of emotions in an interview with Newsflare.
