In this tutorial I explain How a Thermal Power Station Works by process diagram. Three basic natural elements are required for power generation .Air,Water and Coal. For steam generation D.M water is necessary. Coal is comes from Coal Mine and process in CHP. Coal mill grind the coal and feed to boiler furnace. By combustion of fuel heat is generated this heat convert water into High pressure steam. This High pressure and High temperature stem enters into steam turbine and rotates the turbine at 3000 RPM, A generator is connected with turbine. This generator generates 15.75 KV voltage, this voltage step up to 220 KV by generating transformer. 220 KV voltage sent to switch yard for final distribution to customer.
