In the initial years, off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin was Dhoni’s go-to man, with the skipper not hesitating in throwing the ball at him to bowl the first over even with Chris Gayle at strike.Ashwin did not disappoint his captain and being the local boy, soon became an integral part of the Yellow Brigade by producing several match-winning performances. In a chat with cricket expert Harsha Bhogle on Cricbuzz, Ashwin recalled how he was unheard of when he first entered the team and added how he had to impress Dhoni.
