Let's connect to our presidential office correspondent Kim Min-ji.
Min-ji, the top office has made a stern response?
That's right The Blue House has expressed regret over the North's unilateral explosion of the joint liaison office,... saying that it has let down expectations for developing inter-Korean relations and fostering peace on the Korean Peninsula.
It added that all responsibility lies with North Korea warning that the South Korean government will take strong action against any moves that worsens the situation.
The presidential office convened an emergency meeting of the National Security Council,... just hours after North's explosion.
Mind you, it's a shock no doubt.
The top office has taken a wait-and-see approach, and has been urging the North to keep its door open to dialogue.
Just yesterday, to mark 20 years since the first ever inter-Korean summit,... Moon said that the two Koreas cannot go back on their summit deals.
He recalled the promise of peace that was made with North Korean leader Kim Jong-un in front of 80 million Koreans,... and vowed continued efforts to implement the agreements signed in 2018.
Moon also said he was aware of Chairman Kim's efforts to turn things around on the peninsula,... and urged North Korea not to cut off communication and not to raise tensions.
Seoul's unification minister said that the demolition was an expected move.
Just days ago,... Kim Yo-jong, the sister of Kim Jong-un, warned that the North will tear down the liaison office in protest against Seoul failing to stop activists from sending propaganda leaflets across the border.
The latest development is expected to deal a blow to inter-Korean relations,... and the Moon administration's efforts to step up cooperation between the two sides.
