75만명 본 BTS 온라인 콘서트…"세계 최대 규모 온라인 유료공연"

For the first time in eight months, Korean boyband BTS played for their devoted fans.
Even though their latest concert was held online due to COVID-19, hundreds of thousands of fans still logged on to watch what turned out to be the biggest online paid concert ever.
Jang Tae-hyun has the story.
Fans of Korean boyband BTS finally got a chance to see their idols again... in a live virtual concert.
According to the band's management, Big Hit Entertainment, the online concert was watched by over 750-thousand fans from 107 countries.
That makes it the biggest paid online concert in the world.
As well as enjoying the performance, fans could interact by writing comments.
"I love it"
"You are so cute, Jin"
"World-wide handsome, Jin"
"Hit my heart, Jin"
Since they can't meet their fans due to the coronavirus pandemic, BTS members expressed love to their fan group ARMY.
"I've missed ARMY as much as I've missed the stage. I hope this Bang Bang Con and FESTA can show how much I love them."
"We don't know when we can meet in person, but starting with this virtual concert, we will do everything we can."
Fans livestreamed the concert on Sunday through online platform Weverse, which provided six different camera angles for users to choose from.
The price of the virtual concert was only a quarter of the cost of regular concert tickets,... but it still brought in 20 million U.S. dollars from ticket sales alone.
