Blackhead strips are used for unclogging pores on the nose, chin, and forehead. They aren't always successful and can cause discomfort and irritation to the skin. Peace Out Pores makes strips with hydrocolloid, Vitamin A, and DMAE that are meant to visibly shrink pores while also refining skin texture. The hydrocolloid polymer technology helps to lift away dirt, excess sebum, and dead skin cells. The strips are meant to stay on for four to six hours. Insider producer Celia Skvaril decided to test them for herself overnight. To learn more about how and if they work, she spoke with content creator and skin-care specialist Hyram Yarbro, who likes the Peace Out hydrocolloid strips because they are gentler than typical blackhead strips. Celia looked at her pores before and after under a microscope to see if the strips worked.

Celia has been struggling with a bad acne breakout since November 2019. In "The Zit Fix," she will be trying out a bunch of different products — microscope included — to see if they help her breakouts, while getting help from experts along the way.
