The WHO supports face shields as a tool to curb coronavirus spread, but warns that no face covering will stop the virus entirely

The World Health Organization (WHO) says people may want to use homemade face masks while out in public.
The WHO said Monday that "there is a role for face shields" in providing protection against coronavirus.
The agency cautioned that "masks alone will not protect you, face shields alone will not protect you from infection."
Officials continue to stress social distancing, hand washing, and covering your cough or sneeze as other important precautions.
There are no scientific comparisons that place shields above masks for viral protection.
Some public health experts however suggest that face shields might help contain the coronavirus almost as well as masks.
