Several pedestrians held hands and stood behind a traffic pole to avoid being washed away by the flash floods on a submerged road in southern China.

The video was filmed in Yangshuo County in Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region on June 7.

In another clip, vehicles and houses were submerged in the deep floodwater.

According to reports, the daily precipitation was 272 milimetres creating a new record in Yangshuo County.

No casualties were reported and the loss is being calculated.
