This is a hilarious moment a kitten followed her siblings jumping over a gate - only to hit the barrier and fall on her bottom.

The unlucky black moggy was being let out of the cage after returning home with the family of rescue cats in Bangkok, Thailand, on May 22.

Owner, Supaphon, lead the oldest black and white into the home before letting all of the others run across the yard.

Footage shows how the five older moggies made graceful leaps through the doorway.

But bringing up the rear, the one-year-old kitten, named Khao Too, did not have a large enough spring in her step.

Despite a brave effort, her head was not even higher than the top of the board and she clattered straight into it and fell on her haunches.

Supaphon, who was carrying another cat in her arms, rushed to help her.

The cat lover said: "I wanted to show my boyfriend how high our kitties can jump. It was adorable when all five bigger siblings could do it, but Khao Too failed. I think she needs more practice."

Her husband, Chalermchai, said the couple have been looking after stray cats for several years. They had just returned from a trip to the vets when the mishap occurred.

He said: "We now have nine kittens with us, we love them like our children."
