An elevator dragged a two-year-old girl up after a leash attached to her hand became trapped in the doors in central China.

The CCTV video, filmed in the city of Huangshi in Hubei Province on May 28, shows a girl with a rope tied to her arm walking into an elevator alone.

After the doors closed and the elevator moved, the girl was lifted up.

After a while, the emergency stop device launched and the elevator stopped, the girl then slid down onto the floor.

According to reports, the girl was tied by a child safety leash and the other side of the leash was held by her mum. However, she walked into the elevator by herself when her mum was still outside, causing the incident.

Fortunately, the girl was not injured. The video was provided by local media with permission.
