Initially Anushka Sharma was highly praised for the Patal Lok web series. It is being compared to the Amazon Prime's Mirzapur and Netflix's Sacred Games. However, now some people are also opposing this web series. Earlier, Rajya Sabha MP from Ghaziabad Anil Aggarwal opposed the Web Series and now Sudarshan Channel editor and owner Suresh Chavhanke opposed the Web Series, Not only this, he even called Anushka Sharma a Jihadi.

पाताल लोक वेब सीरीज को लेकर शुरू में अनुष्का शर्मा की खूब तारीफ मिली थी। इसकी तुलना नेटफ्लिक्स के सेक्रेड गेम्स और अमेजॉन प्राइम पर पहले आई सीरीज मिर्जापुर से की जा रही है। हालांकि, अब कुछ लोग इस वेब सीरीज का विरोध भी कर रहे हैं। पहले गाजियाबाद से राज्यसभा सांसद अनिल अग्रवाल ने फिल्म का विरोध किया था और अब सुदर्शन चैनल के संपादक और मालिक सुरेश चव्हाणके ने फिल्म के खिलाफ मोर्चा खोल दिया। इतना ही नहीं उन्होंने अनुष्का शर्मा को जिहादी तक बता दिया।
