Horse racing in Britain has been suspended since the middle of March due to the coronavirus pandemic but is now set to return in early June but under fresh protocols.

The British Horseracing Authority is awaiting final government approval for the first meeting to take place, making it the first professional sport to resume since lockdown protocols were implemented.

Footage shows preparations underway at racehorse trainer and former jockey Gary Moore's Cisswood Racing Stables in West Sussex for the anticipated meetings at Kempton.

Tuesday’s (June 2nd) race card at Kempton, has reportedly attracted a massive 454 entries, with horse racing action set to start up again the previous day at Newcastle.

In preparation for the Kempton meeting, jockeys and trainers were putting the horses through their paces out on the gallops.

As racing resumes, all meetings will be behind closed doors, there will be no cheering crowds so it will be an unusual experience for all.
