Senior Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob said Malaysians in Singapore are allowed to return to attend the funerals of their respective immediate family members without having to undergo the mandatory 14-day quarantine period as it is considered an emergency.

He said those who returned are only allowed to be at the burial ceremony for a maximum of three hours and they have to be clad in full personal protective equipment (PPE).

Earlier, the Malaysian High Commission in Singapore said that it was ready to assist a Malaysian woman bus captain who had made a heartfelt plea to return home for her husband’s funeral.
