A landfill in southern China collapsed on May 23, leaving a local villager missing.

CCTV video, captured in the city of Shantou in Guangdong Province and provided by local media with permission, shows a massive crest of mud and rubbish rolling down a slope, sending smoke up into the air.

The landslide was reportedly caused by days of heavy rain. A villager who was farming nearby has been reported missing.
