Swarm of Locusts Destroying States Across India, Worst In 27 Years

Rajasthan’s Jaipur witnessed massive locusts swarm on May 25. According to the officials, locusts swarm was on its way to Dausa. Several parts of Rajasthan are affected by invasion by these crop-munching insects. According to the agriculture department, the locusts have been moving rapidly towards the south and eastern part of the state in search of food.

మిలియన్ల కొద్దీ మిడతల దండు.. పంట పొలాలపై దండయాత్ర.. ఉత్తరాది రాష్ట్రాల్లో రైతులకు కంటి మీద కునుకు లేకుండా పోయింది. పాకిస్తాన్ మీదుగా భారత్‌లోకి వచ్చిన మిడతల దండు పంటలను నాశనం చేస్తోంది. మిడతల గుంపులో కేవలం ఒక చదరపు కిలోమీటరు పరిధిలోనే 80మిలియన్ల మిడతలు ఉంటాయంటే.. ఒక్కసారి కొన్ని వందల గుంపులు పొలాలపై పడితే పరిస్థితేంటి. అందుకే ప్రపంచంలోనే అత్యంత వినాశనకర తెగులుగా దీన్ని పరిగణిస్తారు. గత 27 ఏళ్లలో ఇంత వినాశనకర దాడి మునుపెన్నడూ జరగలేదని పరిశీలకులు చెబుతున్నారు.
