Prime Minister Narendra Modi has announced Rs 1,000 crore immediate relief package to West Bengal in view of the devastation and casualties caused by cyclone Amphan in the state. PM Modi has also announced Rs 2 lakh to the families of the deceased and Rs 50,000 each to the persons who sustained serious injuries during cyclone Amphan landfall in the state. The casualties due to cyclone Amphan has climbed to 80 in West Bengal.
