Tech-savvy South Korea has beaten paperwork-heavy Japan in quickly and efficiently dishing out its COVID-19 relief funds.
Bloomberg reported Wednesday that it took no time for Koreans to receive the aid through wireless bank transfers, while people in Japan had to wait in line for hours to apply for their funds.
As of Tuesday, around 80 percent of households in Korea had got their hands on the funds.
Meanwhile over in Japan, only 19 percent of local governments have started distributing the money.
