Pakistan Legend Saeed Anwar made history on this day 23 years ago with an unstoppable 194 off 146 balls against a hapless Indian bowling unit. His audacious batting performance was the highest ever individual score in ODIs back then, surpassing West Indies legend Sir Vivian Richards record of 189, scored against England in 1984. The contest, which took place in Chennai at the Chepauk Stadium, was the sixth match of the Pepsi Independence Cup hosted by India. Then Pakistan Skipper Ramiz Raja chose to bat first after winning the toss against Sachin Tendulkar.
