Question Hour Part 2: Mosques built over demolished temples should be surrendered to Hindu
  • 4 years ago
Uttar Pradesh Shia Central Waqf Board chairman Waseem Rizvi has once again triggered controversy by saying mosques built on land where once temples stood should be given back to Hindus.

Rizvi, in a letter written to All India Muslim Personal Law Board (AIMPLB) chairman Maulana Rabe Hasan Nadvi, asked the Muslim body to surrender nine religious disputed sites, including the Babri Masjid in Ayodhya to Hindus.

This is not the first time Rizvi’s remarks have sparked a controversy. He has been advocating construction of Ram Temple at the disputed Babri Masjid site in Ayodhya.
