In a horrific incident political activist Ghulam Nabi Patel was shot dead by terrorists in Jammu and Kashmir's Pulwama district on Wednesday. The incident took place in Rajpora Chowk area and also left two policemen injured. Patel's vehicle was fired upon when he was coming to Pulwama from Yader. He later succumbed to injuries while being taken to the hospital. He was a resident of Shadimarg area in Pulwama. While most of the political parties condemned the killing of the senior activist, the ruling PDP and opposition Congress are locked in a row over the party affiliation of the victim. Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti described Patel as a senior Congress leader while the Congress said he was a "well-known PDP activist".
