If you’ll pardon the pun, Star Wars changed the galaxy when the movie hit theaters in May of 1977. Its combination of sci-fi action that drew inspiration from the movie serials of George Lucas’ youth with gripping characters and next-level special effects forever altered both pop culture and the motion picture industry. And we are all the better for it.
