Sialkot to Lahore - Lahore to Sialkot - Motorway Complete Journey
This is our 2nd video as the first video was around 45 minutes but now this one is just 30 minutes as we have put some travel parts in FAST MODE to save the watching time.
Our Journey was started from Daska Road just after ( Motra ) canal and university and it's interlinked. The route actually starts from Sahowala Sambrial so the peoples who live in Sambrial or surroundings, they will start their journey from Sahowala Sambrial.
The motorway is 91 km long. The project is completed and inaugurated on 18th of March 2020. The project cost is 44 billion rupees. The travel time is 50 minutes if you go at the maximum speed of 120 kilometers per hour which is the official speed limit like other motorways in Pakistan.
The motorway is consisting of four-lanes ( both sides ) having nine interchanges, eight flyovers, 20 bridges, and 18 underpasses.
Three industrial zones and two universities would also be established along with the project soon. It is linked with M2 and N5 through Lahore link road near Kala Shah Kaku. The route will run parallel to GT road, passing east of Kamoki, Gujranwala, Daska, Sambrial and will end at Sialkot.
History... The SLM was conceived by the ex-Chief Minister of Punjab, Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi, in 2006 and its foundation stone was laid in 2007 by the ex-President of Pakistan, General Pervez Musharraf, but no actual work was started. According to the original plan, the SLM would have been opened to the public in 2010 but the Government of Punjab shelved the project due to the non-availability of funds. The ex-Prime Minister of Pakistan, Nawaz Sharif, re-ordered construction of the SLM. The National Highway Authority (NHA) shortlisted only two companies — Frontier Works Organization (FWO) and a foreign firm for undertaking this project.
This road will uplift the Sialkot city and the surrounding rural hinterlands. An extension of this project, Sialkot to Rawalpindi Motorway (M12), is in its bidding phase which will also start soon.
