Rafale fighters are 4.5 generation jets and with the deal for 36 aircraft being signed today, the Indian Air Force’s (IAF) combat power will be enhanced significantly. The Rafale fighter jet is equipped to carry out both air-to-ground strikes, as well as air-to-air attacks and interceptions during the same sortie. This is also validated by experts who feel that the Rafale fighter jets would serve to be effective deterrents against not only Pakistan, but also China.
