In a novel method, Tirupattur police have roped in transgenders to assist them in spreading awareness about the coronavirus pandemic and ensure social distancing in public spaces. The transgenders feel this has made them feel empowered to be friends of police during such a difficult time and has also helped improve their image with the public.
