Germany finds a 'road back' from coronavirus devastation

Sky News host Paul Murray says with 1800 deaths as a result of coronavirus, Germany is "finding a road back," by beginning to lift some of its lockdown restrictions.

Chancellor Angela Merkel said given the country's current infection numbers, "we have (coronavirus) under control to some extent".

"We are at a point where we can say we have reached the goal of slowing the virus, and protecting our healthcare system from breaking down," Chancellor Merkel said.

Mr Murray said "that's the deal," the virus cannot be eradicated but if infections are slowed, the nation can reopen.
