Indonesia saw its highest daily increase in Covid-19 cases so far on May 5, 2020, when 464 new coronavirus infections were confirmed. The country also reported eight new deaths in the same day from the disease. The spike comes as millions of people in the world’s largest Muslim country observe the holy fasting month of Ramadan. Indonesia’s lockdown to fight the spread of the virus which has been extended to May 22.
