India were 675/5 on Day 2 vs Pakistan in Multan on March 29, 2004 and pretty much held on the cards in the match. Sachin Tendulkar was batting on 194, Virender Sehwag had made a brilliant 309 and it seemed Rahul Dravid would declare the moment the Master Blaster reached his 200. But then the unthinkable happened. Dravid abruptly declared the innings then and there. Yuvraj Singh had just departed for 59 and Sachin was approaching the milestone but Dravid decided not to bother.

साल 2004 की बात है. टीम इंडिया पाकिस्तान दौरे पर थी. सीरीज का पहला टेस्ट मैच मुल्तान में खेला गया, जिसमें वीरेंद्र सहवाग ने 309 रन ठोक दिए. सचिन ने भी शानदार शतक लगाया, लेकिन पारी समाप्ति की घोषणा के कारण वे दोहरा शतक पूरा नहीं कर पाए. कप्तान राहुल द्रविड़ ने जब पारी घोषित की तो सचिन तेंदुलकर 194 रन पर नाबाद थे. सचिन तेंदुलकर ने भी अपना गुस्सा नहीं छुपाया. उन्होंने इस बात का जिक्र अपनी ऑटोबायग्राफी प्लेइंग इट माय वे में किया है. सचिन लिखते हैं, "पारी घोषित होने से मैं सदमे में था क्योंकि इसमें कोई तुक नजर नहीं आ रहा था."
