South Korean health officials have found that the recovered COVID-19 patients who tested positive again for the coronavirus are not suffering a relapse.
The Korea Centers for Disease Control and Prevention announced on Wednesday that the patients who tested positive after recovering had developed antibodies to fight COVID-19.
Based on the analysis of tests conducted on 25 previously recovered patients, they found it takes longer for the virus to be eliminated from the lungs.
As a result, respiratory samples can test positive even after other tests such as a blood sample show a negative result.
