Indian army rescues government official and his driver after they were trapped in an avalanche

The Indian army in Kashmir rescued a top government official and his driver after their vehicle was buried by an avalanche on April 21.

An Avalanche Rescue Team managed to dig out the buried vehicle from the snow and broke the windshield to rescue the trapped passengers.

According to an eye witness, the avalanche was just short of rolling the vehicle down the cliff.

Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM) Karnah, Bilal Mohudin Bhat, was pulled from the vehicle and given immediate first aid treatment.
