While maintaining its social distancing campaign, South Korea is beginning to ease regulations: first, by gradually reopening outdoor public facilities such as botanical gardens and recreational forests.
It's also due to unveil a set of preliminary guidelines for daily quarantine.
Lee Kyung-eun has the latest.
South Korea reported 9 new cases of COVID-19 on Tuesday, maintaining the current downward trend.

"Since April 18th, the number of newly confirmed cases has stayed at around 10, showing a declining trend from the previous week."

Amid the seemingly stabilizing situation, South Korea will re-open some outdoor public facilities step-by-step until May 5th.
This is part of the new social distancing measures that came into place this Monday.

Among the first places to resume normal operations are national forests and arboretum, starting as soon as tomorrow due to their low risk of infection.
In the coming days, national parks will open their camping grounds and ecological sites.
Public zoos and ecological and biological institutions will open their outdoor exhibitions.

And sports facilities like soccer fields and public stadiums will subsequently open their outdoor sections within the week for sports games without spectators or with only a small crowd.
All these places are required to follow the government's quarantine guidelines, and it is up to local governments of the respective facilities to approve their opening.

These measures are in line with South Korea's preparation to move from social distancing to what it calls "everyday distancing".
That means bringing back the daily routines, but with caution.

"The government will swiftly come up with quarantine guidelines for everyday distancing and provide them to the public so that they can learn them in advance and apply them to real life."

The health authorities will announce the preliminary guidelines for individuals and communities on Wednesday, and the related rules for each type of facility on Friday.
