Business gradually resumes in Iran as shopping areas reopen despite continued Covid-19 risks

Iranian President Hassan Rowhani lifted a ban on intercity travel and allowed businesses to reopen on April 20, 2020, despite the country still battling one of the world’s worst outbreaks of Covid-19. The authorities have started to allow resumption of activities considered to only pose a "medium risk" of spreading the coronavirus that causes the disease. But as many Iranians headed back to work, health officials are warning about the risk of a new wave of coronavirus infections.
