Food shopping with a fishing rod: German customer buys baguettes over the French border
  • il y a 4 ans
Hartmut Fey, a resident of the small German border village of Lauterbach has been buying his morning pastry in France "for decades". Now, with the border closed due to the coronavirus pandemic, he's doing what he can to keep up the tradition of buying his daily bread - once even picking up a bag from his baker using a fishing rod for a funny social media video. Fortunately, such extreme lengths are not entirely necessary. French baker Myriam Jansem-Boualit takes orders by phone for the croissants and baguettes made in her bakery located in the former French customs outpost in Carling, and delivers them to customers at the border crossing.
